Tea for 2 (plus)…
For Morgan’s last day “out”, we threw together a quick tea with some of her friends at my old haunt, The Bellevue. Fun was had by all, and the girls behaved so well, I may just have to do that again…especially the cocktails in the lounge with the parents!
Just me and the gals…
Good day yesterday! Morgan had a great day at school, and had some Sundaes on Monday with some of her girlfriends. Her nanny said that it was a great hour of sugar highs, and then the crash occurred, and it was time to head home. Today is afternoon tea (and cocktails)! We were supposed to […]
O.M.G…I am tooooo old for this…
Had the LP on Thursday, went great. Morgan woke up, asked for food, and had 4 spare ribs and a pack of pringles! The nursing staff said they had never seen anything like it. We then went on to radiology to get ready for next weeks full body radiation. Morgan was busy eating Doritos and […]
Good to the last drop…
Met with the Bone Marrow Transplant team last week. So much information, and for me, a lot scary. It seems that with leukemia, we do not have the luxury of time to find a “perfect” match for the bone marrow donor. Our donor is an 80% match. The three things the transplant team worries about are: […]
Life’s a beach…
So the city was over 90 degrees this past weekend. That would usually mean that the Jersey Shore would be about 10 – 15 degrees cooler. I say usually, because Murphy’s law decided to join us for the day, and the Jersey Shore was 63 degrees! No worries for any child…they have […]
Just breathe….
Lungs are good. Morgan had a good time with the test, she was a real trooper. The facilitator had to remind me that there was only one person that should be giving Morgan instructions on how to breathe thru the test – and it wasn’t me. Her allergies are getting the better of her today, […]
Always be prepared…
For the next few weeks, we will be preparing for Morgan’s transplant. We have seen the eye doctor, dentist, cardiologist. We are seeing the pulmonary specialist today and will be getting a CAT scan in the next week. Morgan will check in on May 13, and then undergo another hard run of chemo before her […]
Gotcha!…
So, Morgan is in school this week – Hallelujah! I know all the mom’s out there know what I mean! Anyway, they are learning about probabilities in Math. The question was “What is the probability that you will have more than one birthday a year?” The choices were: Somewhat likely, less than likely, certainly and […]
Love, Set, MATCH…
I hesitate to put this in writing…I mean, I wrote remission once, and then found out we were not. However, we were just informed by the oncology team that Morgan DOES have a MATCH. We check in May 13 for our new beginning! We will be meeting with the BMT […]
Donor wish it were spring weather already?!…
The Donor Drive was an amazing success! Thank you so much to Friends Select and all who volunteered and participated. The total registered amount was 108!!! I was told by Ms. Claypool that this was way more than the National Donor Program anticipated. It seems for our community size, they were hoping for, and would […]
